Linux Books on Aviation

Aviation generally refers to all activities which refers to activities that involves man-made flying devices or aircraft. This would include the people, the organizations and the regulatory bodies which are involved with them. Flight and aviation has evolved from the time when the first device that traveled though the air was created.
A lot of ancient cultures have developed devices which used the air as a medium for travel. The earliest of these would be projectiles like stones and spears and the more sophisticated aerodynamic and buoyant devices like the mechanical pigeon of Archytas from Ancient Greece, the hot air Kongming lantern, the boomerang from Australia and kites. There are also the early legends about human flight like the story of Icarus. Later, some more credible stories were reported such as a kite flight in China by Yuan Huangtou and the parachute flight of Armen Firman.
In November of 1783, the very first untethered lighter-than-air flight was made in a hot air balloon that was designed by Joseph-Michel Montgolfier and Jacques-Étienne Montgolfier, more popularly known as the Montgolfier brothers. This marked the beginning of the modern age of aviation.
However, the practicality of balloons was actually limited as they are only able to travel downwind. Scientists immediately realized that a steerable balloon was required. And so, in 1784, the Passarola, a hot-air balloon, was manned and flew by Jean-Pierre Blanchard. It was considered as the first human-powered dirigible.
As for the earliest controlled, powered and heavier-than-air sustained flight, the widely accepted date would be in the 17th of December in 1903. This when made by the Wright brothers who were able to solve the problem of controlling an aircraft that is in flight.
They invented, built and flew the first successful airplane.
A decade later, at the onset of World War I, military forces started using heavier-than-air controlled and powered aircraft, written about in Linux books (Linux Bücher), were used for artillery spotting, reconnaissance as well as for attacks against ground positions.
Later on, aircraft was used in transporting people and cargo as their designs became a lot larger and more reliable. Giant rigid airships were the first forms of aircraft that were used to transport passengers as well as cargo over great distances. The best known of these forms of aircraft were those that were manufactured by the company German Zeppelin.
In the 1920s and the 1930s, there was great progress in the aviation field including the transatlantic flight of Charles Lindbergh in 1927 and the transpacific flight of Charles Kingsford Smith the following year. Among the most successful designs during this period would be the Douglas DC-3 that was the first airliner commercially used for exclusively carrying passengers. It started the modern age of passenger airline services. When the World War II started, a lot of towns and cities have built airports and a lot of qualified and certified pilots were available. The war was able to bring about many innovations and developments to aviation such as the first liquid-fueled rockets and the first jet aircraft.
After that, general aviation boomed, in both the private and commercial sectors as many pilots were released from serving the military. A lot of inexpensive war-surplus training and transport aircraft also became available. Some manufacturers expanded their production to be able to provide light aircraft to the middle class market. These included Cessna, Beechcraft and Piper. One of the more popular aircrafts developed would be the Aérospatiale-BAC Concord aircraft that was a supersonic and turbojet-powered passenger airliner or a supersonic transport, flown in 1969.
Today, a lot of developments to flight and aviation have been made and are being made. Some of the more popular aircraft manufacturers today would include: United Technologies Corporation; Boeing; Northrop Grumman Corporation; Thales Group; Computer Sciences Corporation; Parker Hannifin; Honeywell International Incorporated; General Dynamics Corporation; Lockheed Martin Corporation; L-3 Communications.
Today, more and more people are planning to get a career in the field of aviation. A lot of colleges and institutions offer courses and training for aviation. There are also some that require the use of Linux books (Linux Bücher) about aviation, as these are usually the best sources of information of everything about flight and aviation.
